Wrong Date on Ticket

I'm in Greeley, CO.

On 05/09/07 I was pulled over for an illegal lane change and given a ticket for careless driving. I was taking a closer look at the ticket today and noticed that it says the date of the offense is 05/05/07.

Am I able to fight it or get it dismissed if I can prove that I wasn't at that location at that time on 5/5? Also, since the officer gave the citation based on the fact that someone else told him the offense occurred, wouldn't proving that the witness wasn't there either be a viable option?

No, the ticket is just your acknowledgement that you have been charged. If you take it to court, the officer will testify as to the violation, what he says in court is what matters. If he says something inaccurate at that point, you may present evidence to refute his testimony.
