Wrong SpeedYesterday I was pulled over by a city officer just inside his city lines. I was driving and spotted a cop on the right side of the road and slowed down. then after passing i began to speed up again. after 200 yards or so I again spotted a cop on the left side of the road. I have alot of questions as to whether all of his actions were legal. First of all is it considered entrapment in this case? Second, I once heard that cops have to have at least their parking lights on during the night when they are clocking someone. Is this true? Another thing, if he clocked me within his city limits, but pulled me over in a different city would that be considered out of his juristiction? I also had three people in the car with me at the time that agree that I was not going as fast as the cop said I was going. And I find it really fishy that a cop gets more for catching someone that is traveling 15 mph over the posted speed limit, and he wrote down 16 over. This would have put me at 61 mph and I know I was not going that fast. What should I do? Cincinnati, Ohio |

You present no evidence of any wrongdoing by the officer. Entrapment is being coerced into breaking the law, how did the officer force you to speed? And isn't that sneaky to sit and catch speeders with all their lights off? And it is legal too. And crossing the county (or in your case city) line to stop a cop only happens on TV. I would suggest you hire a lawyer. |
