Pay per view sue

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
California

"J&J Sports has retained counsil against me for viewing a pay per view event at my bar. I was not aware that the type of cable i had was residential & not commercial. The lawyer is making me an offer of $26,000 for me to pay to not be sued. What can i do!! i am foreclosing my home and have about $30,000 in debt.
