This is a copy of a letter I have sent to James P. Holden, CEO Chrysler Corporation. It is long, but fully explains the situation I am in, and wish to resolve.
Kimberly F. Finch

Dear Mr Holden
I have also sent you an official copy of this complaint,
but
wanted e-mail ti to ensure that it was acknowledged, and
recieved
as soon as possible.

I have previously complained about the dealership in
question, and
have recieved no response.

On May 04, 2000 my husband and I placed an order for a 2001
PT
Cruiser (VON 59600026) at The Autobarn of Evanston
Illinois.We
used a "green-sheet" control number to place this order.
We on
several occasions called both Chrysler Customer service and
were
told that our order was current.
On Sept 18th we recieved an unsolicited refund of our
deposit and
a letter canceling our order. To confirm this I called the
customer service line, and was told that my order was still
current. I was then connected to The Autobarn where I
spoke to
Blake. Blake informed me that all orders were being
cancelled by
the dealership, but not at the Chrysler level, due to lack
of
projected deliveries. He informed me that "both" of our
orders
were cancelled at the dealership level. I questioned this
because
we only ordered one car. Upon further investigation we
found that
two cars were ordered by the Autobarn using our "green
sheet"
control number. When I called back to customer service to
file a
complaint about this, the rep that I spoke with (Gary)
tried to
question Blake (of the Autobarn) and was told that he was
too busy
and would have to get bak to him.
I later called Blake back my self to ask him about this
double
order. I was told three different thing in this
conversation 1.
That no second order was put in for us, he had misread his
paperwork. 2. That another Chrysler employee with the same
name
had ordered an identical vehicle immediatly after us. 3.
That our
car had "accidently" been ordered twice, and that the
second order
had been sold to a second party. I found this quite hard
to
believe, and no longer trust Blake as I view the variations
of his
story to be blatant lies. Upon further questionin Blake
about
the situation, I was told that since the dealership
realized it
could recieve a higher price for these vehicles, it was
"canceling" all orders so that the customers who ordered
tham were
no longer price protected,m and therefore the Autobarn
could
charge them more money. I was alos told that under IL state
law
the dealership did not have to inform us of the arrival of
our
vehicle, even though ordered in our name, because there is
no bill
of sale for the car. Well since the car is not yet built,
therefore it cannot have a bill of sale. I find this to be
a very
sneaky tactic. I also spoke with the General Manager of the
Autobarn Mr Rick Loft. Mr Loft was unable to answer any of
my
questions, and I was told that he would call me back after
he
spoke with Blake. He did not call me back, I had to call
him, and
he still had no answers for me. I then requested his
Chrysler
Regional Represenative's address and sent him a courtesy
copy of
the official complaint I sent to you.
I have also repeatedly contacted the Customer service line,
and
written to d/c answers three times. I have only been
contact once
in return, to tell me that the phone number I gave was
incorrect.
I have attempted to call Mr Michael Fairo, and have even
left him
messages, but have yet to recieve any actual answers. I
have
also contacted the Better Business Bureau about the
Autobarn. I
also intent to contact the COnsumers Union about this
matter.

I would like to find a solution to this problem, but so far
I have
not been offered one. Ideally we would like to recieve
our car
as ordered, as soon as possible so that we no longer have
to deal
with the unethical business practices of the Autobarn. As
I
mention to Mr Fairo in my most recent e-mail, I have begun
to keep
a file of all corospondance generated by this matter, and
is a
resolution is not found in a timely manner, I fully intend
to seek
legal counsel against the Autobarn.

Sincerly
Kimberly F. Finch
