What is the name of your state? TX

I may have personal judgement filed against me soon because of a business related commercial lease obligation. If I start a new company...Can future business assets of a new company be impacted through this judgement if I am listed as an owner? What could happen if I can't/don't pay the judgement under TX law? I'm trying to figure out if it may be to my benefit to file Ch.7 before the new bankruptcy laws take affect or just wait it out and let the pervious landlord sue. What, if any, type of business structure would offer the most protection from this type of dilemma?
