What is the name of your state? Iowa

I am an engineer for a small assembly operation. I want to leave this company and start my own operation. Can I leave the company, then legally submit a proposal to assemble the same parts for the same customer but at a lower rate? I have access to all information concerning pricing, costs, profit etc.
