| Contractor's License and Personal Liability What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
I work for a corporation in California. We've grown from a few people to almost 100 people relatively quickly. Recently they fired the "Qualifying Individual" who held our contractor's license. He was not an "owner" or stock-holder; he was just one of the first employees they hired. Since he's gone, they've asked me to take the test and become the new Qualifying Individual.
My question is; does this make me personally liable for all the work ANYONE does in the name of our company (including subcontractors)? So, if we do work and someone screws it up and the company gets sued, can they also list me personally as a litigant (go after my house, saving, etc)?
If this isn't the correct forum for this, let me know and I'll repost. It seemed like the closest match.
Thanks! What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? |
