Corporation or LLC??Cook County - Illinois Hello everyone, I am starting a technology company. It will be a one-man operation (only me). I was wondering what would be the best route to take since I lack business knowledge. Corporation or LLC? I am under 30 years old and am single (info provided for tax purposes). There is no physical address for the business. |

| A sole proprietorship is an option, but the corporation options may not be inadvisable. However, none of them is really going to have any tax benefit for a one man shop. But, even as a sole proprietorship, if you are using a name other than your own, you have to register it Cook County Clerk's Office | Business Name Registration What do you mean there is no physical address? You will have to have an address of record even if you are operating out of your apartment. There are generally some information available to small business startups like yours. Frankly anybody who has a hope in the technology industry should have been able to google what I just did. UI seems to have one available to you Cook County Extension Small Business and Entrepreneurship Education - University of Illinois Extension
