What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois.
I registered my Bussiness at the county clerk dba.My question is, that my
name is dean ******, I want to do business as dean desoza,changing my
last name can i do this with a dba at the county clerk?Thank you.

**A: registering a dba or changing your name is a state function and not a county function.

Sorry HOMEGURU, wrong.

Illinois requires businesses to register their trade names with their county clerk.
805 ILCS 405/1.

Corporations are created by the state, but fictitious (business, assumed, trade, dba) names are done by the county.
