What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

What types of liability are there with starting corporations for other people? We get requests to help other people file their corporations and would like to know what we are getting into if we offer it as a regular paid service. We would only offer the initial filing and paperwork service.

Why does the state SOS require a lawyer to be present if you are doing it for another? Our state is very easy and only has a few questions on the paperwork. Companies such as incorporate.com just fill out the paperwork with data provided by the client and delivery it for them.

I am with you on this, just getting concerns out of the way. Thank you for the help.

It's NOT how hard the filing is. You could even publish a book or website on how to do it. The issue is providing legal services without holding the appropriate credentials.
