What is the name of your state? Ohio

I am in sales currently selling IT and wireless products, mostly in the healthcare market. I do well but constantly run into opportunities to sell products that are not in my employers product line. If I had my own company, I would be able to provide these various products to the customer. Sort of like being a manufacturer's rep. I do not anticipate making a ton of money but would be a nice supplemental income. What is the best thing to do to take advantage of these opportunities? My guess is to form some sort of company like an LLC and run the business through it.

Am I on the right track?

Thank you in advance.
