Employee/1099

If I was sued and loss the case, how can I protect my income? Can I work as a 1099 to protect it?

Nope. In fact, 1099'er is easier to garnish against since a wage is not involved. All that has to be done is a 'turnover' order filed with the employer who will then have to turn over the moneys due to the independent contractor.

I notice that you didn't protest your innocence in this judgment, so I assume that the moneys owed are true and correct. My suggestion to help you protect your salary; contact the judgment holder and make some arrangements to pay the debt.
