On August 16,2000 Heilig-Meyers Furniture filed chapter 11 bankruptcy and laid off over 4000 people. Some of us were offered severance pay packages and has never been paid.
I was employed after the bankruptcy was filed and signed a contract on my severance package on August 23,2000 but I haven't been paid a dime.
I find that they have included the severance pay into the bankruptcy.
How can they do this if the contract was entered into after the case had been filed?
What can we do to recover the monies owed to us?
