My friend, an inventor, is looking for seed money to get his compressor into production and to do some marketing. I found a potential investor and would like to know how to draft an agreement with the inventor so that I get a Finders fee for locating investors. I heard that the customary fee is 15%; however, should I ask for 15% of all investments that my investor makes? Or should I ask for 15% of the first investment my investor makes? Where can I find a legal form I can download and have the inventor sign?
