How difficult is it to change a corporate name?

Sorry, I was not clear.
What I meant is that if we go ahead and establish a corporation in California and call it "qqq corporation", how difficult would it be to go back later and ask to rename it to "nnn corporation" and how much does it cost?

Not difficult at all. Simply file the namechange with the state.

Not much. You will likely spend more on changing letterhead, business cards, signage, etc.
