How do I avoid lawsuits?

Hello! I am opening a business soon to expand a hobby of mine for the past few months. I build Longboards, and my only concern is that I may be somehow tied to any accidents resulting from my products. My question is essentially this: If I sell a board to a dumb, non-helmet-wearing kid and he gets hit by a bus,, how do I avoid court/losing my house/jail time?
