What is the name of your state? MT
I'm looking to start up some sort of business relationship with a Canadian friend. The business will primarily be an online service.
What would be the *easiest* way to form some sort of partnership or arrangement such that we both get what we want, and are protected under local and international laws?
Ideally, if we lived in the same town, we'd write this up as a 50/50 partnership.
If a partnership is not possible, then another thought was to start the primary business here, but then "contract" him in...e.g. write it up such that he's an investor with 50% of the rights to the business. I am not sure how this process would work, and I certainly wouldn't want to pay tax on his contributions to the company.
Well, without brainfarting anymore, I'll just ask if anyone can point me in the right direction?
