I am very shocked at the responses you got. No not only from the rude flmaers, but also from the "senior" member who said that the question was not for an internet forum. Boy, where have you been, son. This isn't 1995 anymore, man. There are MANY folks making money in the adult biz right from their own home.
True, the OP is very clueless, but then, as stated, that is why he is here. It is obvious that it would have been best to basically reword his question appropriately and give the poroper response.
Being somewhat in the adult biz (not as a content provider), you really ned to seek the services of a lawyer. Not necessarily local. A remote lawyer who specializes in the adult bioz woul dbe much better. they are used to dealing with clients all over the country and it is their specialty.
Do you need a special license in your locality? That is something you REALLY need to look into. Again, a lawyer. One that you pay for.
But very simly put, federal law requires that you retain a file on EVERY person in your pjotos or whatever. The file contains various papers, copntracts, and model releases that all contain VERY IMPORTANT info about all who are in the pictures/whatever. All of these files must be kept CONSTANTLY at your place of business/studio. You will be collecting 2 forms of ID and keeping copies of them in this file in order to prove to the authorities that your models are all of legal age and have been since they started posing for your work. If you hav e areally young looking girl (or boy), you can expect a knock on your door from the authorities. They will need you to provide these file as proof of age of the model in question. I fyou cnnot provide such files on demand...well...good lcuk to ya,. You probably won;t be producing adult films ever again and you are lucky if you have much of a financial/social lfe after that seeing how you'll be sleeping with Bubba every night. He's very "clingy", you know.
So it is also obvious that the reason you came here was to perhaps save yourself money because startup capital is limited, if not, non-existent.
I all have to say about that is this. If there is any business in which it is IMPERATIVE that you hire a FT lawyer from the get-go, it is CERTAINLY they adult business, sir.
You seem very young. You have a lot to learn. Business is nothing to take lightly. Over 90% of all businesses started up go out of business withing 6 months due to lack of startup capital. Again, although the adult biz may seem somewhat glamourous, it is nothing of the sort, for th emost part. It is a business, and one that is under Uncle Sam's microscope constnatly. YOU CAN BET YOUR ARSE that there are laws, regulations, and ordinances you will have to follow in order to start such a business.
the point is that if you cannot afford a lawyer, especially in the adult biz, fom the star, you need to seriously reconsider going into business until you
a) understand what it really means to be in business
b) what it really means to be in the adult business
c) what your expenses are going to be to both start your business legally and to maintain that business.
There are many adult business forums on the internet you can go to in order to learn more. But i warn you, they will eat you alive with your naivete(sp?).
But there you will find links to national adult biz attorneys you can seek for consultation. I will not be divulgin these sites here. Not because they are a secret (heck you may have heard of at least one of them) but because obviously this place to too uptight to talk about perfectly legitimate businesses (which is what I gather you were looking to start).
If you really think you have what it takes to market adult material successfully, then I suggest you begin as a webmaster/marketer. This can be done with very little money and can be built up to a decent income within 6months to a year, if you know how to do it and you really do know how to market the material. There are planty of companies out there that have content for you to promote and you don;t even have to buy the copyright licenses from them, as long as you only promote thier websites, they provide free content. When you start making douhg, you can start buying content from others and promoting any site you want. While there may be local ordinances against even this type of adult biz, the chances are probably slim unless you live in a very small town or in the bible belt.
Good luck. But don;t think for a second it's going to be all fun and games. Most of the time it isn't.
