What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

I get calls from businesses trying to sell stuff to me all the time. Usually they get my contact information from various business directories. Is there any law against doing this? I know they're strict on telemarketing these days...

does this have any relationship to your question on another forum where you asked if you could cold call business attempting to sell your wares? It is worded identically to that question but you later clarified it is that you want to call businesses rather than the other way around.

that is a very different situation than a business calling you.
