I AM IN LITIGATION IN PRO-PER WITH A FORMER DIVORCE ATTY. THIS ATTY. FAILED TO GET SOME PAYMENTS CLASSIFIED AND ENDED UP COSTING ME IN EXCESS OF $200,000. NOW I AM IN A BATTLE WITH THIS ATTY'S. DEFENSE ATTY. I HAVE ASKED FOR THE NAME OF THE INSURANCE CO. AND THE CLAIMS PERSON. THEY SY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO COMPLY BUT TO THIS DAY THEY HAVE NOT. WHAT CAN I DO AND IF I FIND OUT WHO THE ADJUSTER IS CAN I CONTACT THEM? I DONT THINK THAT THE ATTY. IS PASSING ON THE SETTLEMENT OFFERS THAT I HAVE SENT.

My response:

The reason they are not giving you anything is because they don't have to respond to telephone requests, or requests for answers in letter form. You need to serve "formal" discovery questions (Interrogatories), Demand for Production of Documents, Request for Admissions, etc. If you haven't done those things, then of course, they won't pay any attention to you. This is not the type of case you should be "playing lawyer" with because you have virtually no idea what you're doing or what to do next to help yourself.
