LLC or S-Corp / INC

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FLORIDA

I am starting a small collections firm and need to know if it is smarter to register as an LLC or a corporation. I read something about being an LLC but filing taxes as an S-Corp. Any ideas? I am mostly concerned with protecting my personal assets from those of the business in the event of a lawsuit.
