Hope this is not a stupid question but...
Is it illegal to download music files commonly known in the form of MP3's from the internet say from "Napster"? I realize that the question of whether Napster should continue its services is being handled by higher courts, but until then, is it legal to download MP3's. Napster is still up and running despite an attempt to close it down. Lycos, a reputable search engine has its own MP3 sight as well. Is it ok to download from them and other webpages like them? Finally, can there be any serious (future) repercussions to those millions of downloaders who in fact do download MP3's?
