Need help dealing with investor.

I am starting a new business and have begun "talks" with an investor. I am currently working on a business plan. The Investor likes to get together with my partner and I every couple of weeks when he comes back into town. We have nothing signed yet, so I feel uneasy talking about the industy to him. There is a legal document that I will get him to sign when the business plan is completed. Is there any document I should get him to sign before I finish the business plan?
