I am currious about 1-800 numbers and other toll free numbers.
My college has now blocked all toll free numbers so students can no longer call from their dorm rooms! I.E. Phone cards mostly. The only way we can use a toll free number is if we can find a working phone booth on one of the floors. Often the floors are too loud and you can not hold a conversation at the pay phone. The other option is to pay the school $25.00 to establish a phone account with the school. Then after that it costs 25 cents per toll call untill the 25 dollars is used up.
Is it legal for my college to block toll free numbers then charge us pay to make the phone call?

Thank you.
