It does not matter where you host the site. If you (as an entity whether it is a corporation ore whatever) are in the U.S. and you break U.S. law or run a site facilitating the breaking of U.S. law, you will have problems.

You were not specific at all in your post, but, for example, if you facilitate the exchange of smart card programs that allow one to "hack" a DirecTV receiver, you will hear from DirecTV even if your actual server is in a cave somewhere with Osama.

You can't just hide the box somewhere and then be fat and happy.
