I leased an espresso Machine for a business I was in with my ex husband and my sister and her husband. The lease was for 5 years but we went out of business after 2 1/2 years we sent the machine back and the person we taked to at the company said they would try to re-lease or sell it as soon as they could. They sold the machine but now after being out of business for over 2 years they are sueing me for the remainder of the lease

My response:

Okay. Nice story. So, what's your question?
If you're going to ask, "Now what do I do?", you're on the hook. You signed a lease, and the money is due. It's not their fault that you went out of business, and the lease was not contingent upon your ability, or lack thereof, to stay in business. They have a right to the balance of the value of the machine. PAY IT !!
