a city has closed a major road off for construction in conjunction to a revitalization project. The businesses on that street were not notified and then told it would take only 3 months before reopening. It has now turned into eight. The business are struggling to stay alive and the city continues to contend there is nothing they can do to give any financial help. Prior to the street closure, the entire community was displaced and demolitioned. This project was funded in part by a Hope 6 federal grant. The housing authority contends they have no obligation to the struggles which they to have created. Over 12 business have filed bankruptcy. It was adopted by city council in the master plan for this redevelopment project that there would be assistance for existing business to survive this dramatic change. Nothing has been done nor acknowledge. Now there is a whole new market and they can't even afford to retool to address the new market needs. They have sought to address their concernes and need for some type of assistance with various governmental officials and city managers. "There is nothing we can do" Does anyone have any suggestions for a good civil attorney that would be willing to work with them and take on this big governmental agency.
