Is it legal to start a business in a niche market? I am currently working in a small business and im planning to replicate the business. But I am not stealing anything from my current job, I would start from scratch. I would operate my business a little differently also. If my boss found out that I'm his competitor in the future, can he sue me for intellectual property? Since he taught me the know how's? It's not like he has a patent for this kind of service.
