I live in California in the Bay Area and I'm a freelance web designer that's getting a few jobs here and there. I have one client who wants to hire me as a webmaster so I'll be filling out a W-4 for her and another one that's thinking about it. I'm a college student so I'm just doing this all temporary, or maybe fully I don't know but I know at least until mid-2011 when I graduate. I'm curious what the advantages and disadvantages are of getting a business license for only me and my business. I'm thinking about it and a few people have suggested it so I'm just curious. In terms of taxes, and other legal/individual things throughout the year. If there are any websites I can read up on that be great. Any advice, information, or suggestions would be great!
