I am part of a very small non-profit organization (providing food and clothing to desperately poor), we have been approached by a larger organziation that wants to organize us under their "umbreall organization". Where can I find more info on this versus just being associated with the larger organization? We don't want to lose our independence or ability to raise funds and make decisions on our own. But the advertising and the ability of the larger organization to reach people would be great! Thanks!

Ask them! And many charities have to file with state attorneys general's offices so get their reports and ask some other affiliated charities.
