What are my rights! My friend joined a small company with the intentions of becoming a partner. Once she was in she realized partnership was not a good idea. No contract was ever in place - verbal nor written. Eventually, she's been contemplating leaving. All of the sudden out of no where she was told she was being let go due to FALSE accusation by a male employee. She has yet to recieve a restraining order or subpoena. The locks to the establishment have been changed. She was told she cannot retrieve her belongings (which she needs to be able to continue working anywhere else). Is there any legal reason why she can't retrieve her equipment with a police escort? What if the owner tries to claim her stuff is his?
