1099-Misc ConfusedWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida I received a 1099-MISC from my boss the other day and I am not quite sure what I need to do so I don't get fined or anything of the such. Throughout the course of the year, he never took out SS or Medicaid or any other taxes. I truly haven't a clue what to do. |

| Well you have two choices. If you were an independent contractor, then you fill out a Schedule C (and SE) and report that income. If you believe you were legitmately an employee, then you fill out an 8819. Either way you are going to owe substantial income and a share of the social security/medicare that wasn't withheld. If you do not understand this, contact a tax professional. |
