What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WA

I'm confused about the Child Tax Credit.

Can the Child Tax Credit be claimed by the CP for a child on whom they are not claiming the dependant exemption?

facts: We have 2 children. Each of us will claim 1 as dependant for 2009. CP will provide NCP with form 8332. Children both lived primarily with CP. They had only 48 overnights with NCP.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

For the 2009 tax year, you must be claiming the dependent exemption in order to also claim the the child tax credit. The requirements for a qualifying child require that they both live with you for more than half the year and is claimed as a dependent on your return.
