What is the name of your state?California here. I receive long-term disability insurance from my prior employer's insurance. I had to hire an attorney, of course, to collect. He gets 33.33% ($12,000/yr.) I also receive Social Security Disability for which I did not have to hire an attorney. My question is...can I claim the attorney fees as a deduction on my state and federal taxes? Need help. Thank you.
