back taxesmaryland. would like to come clean on any back taxes i owe, fed & state. how can i find out what they "know" and start some kind of reasonable payment plan? its not a lot but i don't have a lot. no credit so a loan is no option. i truly would like to clear this up but at $19,000 per year johnny cochran is not an option either. worried that just inquiring about my deficiency will cause all hell to break loose. filing status change at divorce left me short before. irs said $100/week and when i said i couldn't handle that they garnished me and gave me $75/week to live on for 4 months. is this all i have to look forward to? |

| You may qualify for an "Offer in Compromise." If you do, the IRS will forgive part of the debt and agree to a settlement that you can afford. To see if you qualify, download Form 656, Offer in Compromise. The form, which you can download at the IRS site at: http://www.irs.ustreas.gov/forms_pubs/index.html , has very good instructions. |
