Just trying to get some information on how to go about acquiring property through payment of back taxes that are owed. I was told that after you pay the taxes owed the original owner has up to three years to settle with you 5% and interest that would acrue each month. If nothing has been done in the three years you can file a judgement to have property turned over to you. Just trying to get some information on exactly the correct procedure to handle this situation. Is this only done through public auctions, or can you go to your local property tax office and view such properties that are delinquent in taxes.... Any advice is greatly appreciated...
