We paid our 2nd quarter 941 taxes late and are waiting to hear what the penalties and interest will be. Is it possible to do an offer and compromise on the interest and penalties?

It is unlikely you qualify for an Offer. You can write a letter requesting an abatement of interest and penalties. There is virtually no chance they will abate the interest, but, if you have a very good reason, you could possibly get penalties abated. "I forgot" and "we did not have the money" are not good reasons.

I have seen abatements on penalties, but never on the interest. As irsos stated, it must be a very valid excuse. It also helps to state what steps you have taken to avoid this from happening in the future.
