I was at the DMV yesterday & was told that sales taxes apply to a lease transfer-- that was confusing because I am not buying the auto. I do not hold title on this auto and do not plan to, only update lease registration in my name. The dealer leased to another party and I am picking up this lease from that original party. The DMV calls this a private transaction & is applying taxes to the value of the car at lease end. According to the bill of sale, vehicle tax & licenses is included in monthly payment. THANK YOU!
