California State Income TaxundefinedWhat is the name of your state? California I have been told by the State of California that I have neglected to file 1991 and 1994 taxes. They are trying to collect $8,000.00 plus in taxes but first, I do not know if I filed or not in those years. Secondly, I cannot afford to pay them. They have started to garnish my paycheck 25% each pay cycle. What alternatives do I have?? They said I could file my tax returns but I have no information on income for those years. Thanks for any help I can get. |

| Contact the IRS & request copies of your federal returns. Use those to file a CA return. Also request your '92 & '95 returns -- if you listed a CA refund as income in either year, it's proof you filed the frickin' CA return the year before. Alternatively, contact CA & request copies of your '91 & '94 W-2s. Obviously, CA has them on file if they're faking up a return for you & sending you a bill. Chances are CA filed you married separate & allowed $0 itemized deductions, since that would result in you owing the most $$. You'll probably need to get an EA involved. H&R Block has at least 1 per office.
