california tax lawWhat is the name of your state? California I want to know if I sell my home in California for the first time if I will have to pay any taxes on the profit if I purchase another home in California. Also what would the difference be if I were to move to a different state and purchase there. |

| If you sell land in CA, you pay tax in CA. I think you can avoid paying tax to CA if the home qualified for the exclusion: you owned & lived in it 2 of the last 5 years.
