What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT

I am researching the various perks offered to volunteers at camps. I find that volunteers may be asked to pay for their room and board or have it provided. They may be given staff shirts, small gifts, occassional meals or have to purchase these items. They may receive no discount or receive sizeable discounts on children attending the camp.

Obviously the camps can and do market differently to attract the staff they feel best suit their program, but at what point do volunteers stop being volunteers?
