charging for patients services but not claiming taxes on it.What is the name of your state? Ohio I worked for a Vision Center that would charge the patients for tinting there glasses and total charge with tax was $13.31, but they would only accept cash or checks. Then they would put this money in a metal box for misc. expenses for paper plates, cups, pops, coffee etc. Now they are mostly charging Medicaid and Medicare patients this because there insurance will not pay for it. My point is they are charging taxes but not paying a single dime in taxes...Is this against the law..its deceiving to me..this is not recorded on any ledger or anything**************when ever we would need something in our snack room we would use those funds..This mostly hurts the people that doesn't have good insurance which is cash patients and Medicaid and Medicare..I think its a ripe off..If your wondering no!! I don't work there any more..thanks |

| If the receipts from the services are subject to state sales tax, they certainly were required to report it to the Sales Tax Department and submit the tax collected. If they were not subject to sales tax, they still are required to show the receipts as non=taxable items on the Sales Tax Form. As for income tax, they were also required to show the receipts as income, but they also would be entitled to deduct the payments from the fund as an business expense, so although for income tax purposes, they were not following the reporting requirements, it had no effect on their tax. |
