Hi,

I would like to claim my child's preschool cost for a child care question. He goes to a church preschool that is tax exempt and 4 of the 5 days he goes I work while he is there. How does the IRS reconcile my claim with a tax exempt provider and what paperwork will I need to have on hand to support my claim? The school does have a EIN number but do I just need to write tax exempt on the form?

Thank you

Their general tax status is not your concern at all. You just fill in the forms with their EIN. Besides, while I don't know much about non-profits, I suspect this would be unrelated business taxable income.
