Child Support Arrears & Filing 2007 taxes

What is the name of your state? California

I just got married to my Husband in October 2007. When he does his taxes, every year his refund gets intercepted by the County for past due arrears in his Child support, and therefore never gets that refund.

Since I am married now, I would like to file our taxes jointly, resulting in a bigger refund. My only problem is, would the government still intercept our refund even though I am also on that tax return?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Anything with his name on it gets intercepted and given to the children who are going/have gone without his support....

However, lucky for you, there are forms you can fill out with your tax return so that YOUR portion is returned to you.
