What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? GA

I am pretty sure I know the answer but have a question about the Child Tax Credit.

We filed our 2008 taxes and out accountant had our son down as qualifying for the tax credit. But his birthday is December 18 and he turned 17 in 2008 on this date. Because of this the IRS recalculated what we owed since they said he did not qualify. Is there any recourse on getting this adjusted back....he was under 17 for 50 out of 52 weeks for 2008

Nope - the child has to be 16 or younger at the END OF THE YEAR. I know - it sucks. Mine turned 17 in mid November.
