What is the name of your state? New York.
The IRS collection statute is 10 years, however the NY State Tax Department informs me that they have 20 years to collect. Whats going on here?What is the name of your state? New York.

The IRS statute is federal law and applies to federal taxes only.

NY state law applies to state taxes.

Obviously federal and NY laws are not the same.
