What is the name of your state? Texas. I know a woman who is claiming her grandchildren on her tax return even though they have never lived with her nor has she ever supported them, can she do that? She has been doing this for years.
She's committing tax fraud. If the IRS notices, they could go back any number of years, change her returns, then add penalties & interest, then take her house........
