What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Utah

I have a website that I generate income from advertising and it uses information about how to install and review different products on a Jeep. Can I write off the cost of these products in my taxes?

If your website meets the IRS definition of a business rather than hobby (i.e., a profit motive), then you can. Otherwise it is disallowed.

The hobby loss rules only apply to *losses*. You can always deduct ordinary and necessary expenses from income derived--even if it is derived from a hobby.
