What is the name of your state? California

My husband hasn't filed business taxes for over 8yrs. I have worked for 2 of those years and filed my income seperatly.
If I file for seperation from my husband, and clearly agree with my husband in writing that the back taxes are his responsiblity, will that stop them from coming after me?

As long as you have filed separate returns for every year, the IRS cannot come after you for his taxes. If you haven't filed separately, do so now, even if you had no income during those years. That way your husband can't file a return & sign your name to it. Be sure to keep copies of your returns for at least 4 years from the day you file.
