Do I claim single or Head of Household

What is the name of your state? NJ
I am trying to figure out my taxes.. I do not know if I should claim head of household or single... I am a single mom of 3 children. I live in my fathers house, but he supports me or my children in no way financially. So I am not sure which to claim. Also, when I started my job in Feb 07, I took the child tax credit (if you earn under 58k per year and have dependant children you can claim 2 for each dependant child) so for my total dependants I claimed 7. Looking at the w2 form it gives me an option to check a box if I claimed for the child tax credit.. do i check that and then and then claim 2 next to each child? otherwise I will have claimed 7 all year, and then wind up with only 4 dependants. Sorry, hate to sound dumb.. I usually do my own taxes, but I was a stay at home mom for 15 years and never had all these tax options to pick from. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.. could really use my refund, lol
